Doug Armstrong

I am thrilled to be the newest member of the Cabin Country team as I embark on my new career. I recently retired from my successful 35-year financial services career with Great West Life and soon realized that I am not ready to retire. I spent the past year looking at what I wanted to do and chose to follow my passion in recreational property sales. I have been actively studying the Lake of the Woods real estate market for the past ten years since purchasing my family’s 4 season second home and this career choice is the perfect fit for me. I could not be more excited.
With having a year-round home in Lake of the Woods, I quickly saw the beauty in all the seasons, and I began to make any excuse not to return to city life. Storm Bay Road is my full time home now and I could not be happier.

Sports is a great interest of mine having grown up in a competitive sports family. I am a former professional curler in Manitoba, winning three Manitoba Championships and one Canadian Championship as well as an avid golfer. In my younger years I was on the Manitoba Junior Golf Team. I enjoy golfing at both golf courses in Kenora and love that I can drive my boat to one of the courses.

I have a blended family with my partner of 5 years, Charlotte, and enjoy spending time with our children and grandchildren especially when they visit at the lake. Charlotte is a 5th generation cottage owner in Kenora having grown up in the family cottage on Coney Island. She has been an active supporter of Kenora sitting on boards and committees over the years. We both look forward to being more involved in our community now that I am here full time.

I look forward to working with my city friends as well as my lake friends in finding their perfect piece of paradise.
